Markets fell. The Sensex dropped 443 points (-0.57%) to 77,708 and the Nifty slipped to 24,238 as HDFC Bank and Axis Bank tumbled about 5% after their Q1 results disappointed on margins.

Markets rallied hard. The Sensex jumped +964.58 points (+1.25%) to 78,151.45 and the Nifty 50 rose +261.55 points (+1.09%) to 24,334.30. Private banks, IT and autos led the charge, helped by strong earnings and gains in Reliance ahead of its results

Markets ended flat. The Nifty 50 slipped 5.75 points (-0.02%) and the Sensex was almost unchanged, up 1.44 points. A rebound in IT stocks like HCL Tech and Wipro offset weak financials, banks and realty.

Benchmark indices surrendered most of their strong morning gains on Wednesday as investors booked profits at higher levels. Early euphoria from softer-than-expected US retail inflation data, which initially sent the Sensex up by over 590 points,

Equity benchmarks turned sharply lower on Tuesday as international sentiment soured overnight. Fresh military developments between the United States and Iran escalated geopolitical risk in West Asia, sending Brent crude oil spiking up +1.63% to nearly $84.60 a barrel.

Asian markets painted a mixed picture this morning following a relatively flat Friday close on Wall Street, where cooling inflation data revived hopes for imminent rate cuts.

Indian benchmark indices ended sharply higher today, driven by broad-based buying across IT, Realty, Metal, Financial Services, and Energy stocks.

The stock market rebounded today after a heavy correction in the previous session. The recovery was aided by foreign fund inflows and supportive global cues.
